Hi,

Following my other posting, I will continue to post more pictures slowly on the interesting place I find in Taiwan.

Posted below are some pictures of Jiu Fen (九分).  The street scene and surrounding area and not forgetting the food I find there.

The food here are freshly made and it is not advisable to bring back if you not going back on the same day as these food does not have preservatives and could not keep too long outside and the change in temperature.

Photos of Peng Hu Island, Taiwan

I made a trip to Taiwan, Peng Hu Island (彭湖岛) for a short trip.  I arrive in Taipei on Monday, Oct 25 and stay 1 night in Taipei and leaving for Peng Hu Island the next morning.  We took a domestic flight form Taipei Song Shan Airport (松山机场) to Peng Hu domestic - Ma Gong Airport (马宫机场).  The flight takes about 1 hour.


This is the first time I have sat of a small plane.  It can seat about 50 passengers.  My friend brother was teasing me about having to cover my ears throughout the journey.  I did not know what he meant till I sat in the plane and it starts taking off.  I was sitting next to the wing and the sound by the engine was very noisy.  I practically have to cover my ears with my jacket throughout the journey.


But it was an experience like you are living in the 60s of Singapore where you see movies of people arriving in plane and have to use the steel staircase to climb up and down.

Highlight of the Island :

Visit to the old house of an old singer of the 70s - Pan An Bang (潘安邦)  and the late singer Zhang Yu Sheng (张雨生).  Both live in the island when they are young with their family. 

Free and Easy Travel in Taiwan - 5 Days 4 Nights Package

Dear All,

New free and easy package to Taiwan.  Minimum 6 people to form a group. 

Day 1
Arrive into Taipei International Airport (flight – own arrangement).  Do let us know your arrival and departure flight details as we will arrange airport transfer for you.

Pick up from the airport and we will start the tour with a rest and relaxing ride from Taipei to Tai Chung (台中). This will be a two and a half hour journey.

Upon reaching TaiChung, checked into hotel, rest for a while and will bring you to Yi Zhong Night Market (一中夜市).  You will have dinner at this market, where there are local food to try and you will be able to shop after dinner.


Day 2
Breakfast at Taichung hotel.  After breakfast, we will check out of hotel and continue our journey to the famous lake - the Sun Moon Lake (日月潭).  You will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery here.  After this, will bring you to a temple - the Wen Wu Temple (文武庙).  Lunch will be taken at the Aboriginal Village called the Jiu Zhu Village (九族文化村).  Here you will be able to take a look at the different type of lifestyle and food of the aboriginal tribe.  Entrance fee will be not included in the package.  After a long day at the village, we will bring you to enjoy hot spring at the Tong Pu Hot Spring (东圃温泉).  Dinner and hotel for the second night will be included in the package.


Day 3
Breakfast will be taken in the hotel. After breakfast, we will bring you to a winery - the PuLi Cellar (埔里酒厂).  Lunch will be taken along at a place called Jing Du whereby you will enjoy the meal call "金都风味餐"  - prior to going to Aboriginal Handicraft centre. We will proceed to Qing Jing Resort (清境农场) for the night.

At 清靜農場 or Qing-Jing Resorts, most of the houses in this area were built of Swiss and Old English design, with the rolling green hillsides, the High mountain Backdrop and Cypress trees throughout the area, one could easily imagine that they were actually some where in Switzerland.


Day 4
Breakfast at hotel.  If weather permit (not raining) we will bring you to a sheep shearing show in the morning after breakfast.  After this we will leave the cooling mountain and drove down (the journey will takes about 4 hour) to Qing Shui Rest Station (清水休息站) for a short break (lunch will be on own expense as you can try local Taiwanese food at the rest station).

We will bring you to get Taiwan famous tit-bits (维格凤梨酥) and souvenir at the Taiwan Souvenir centre  (台湾伴手礼中心) before going to Jiu Fen (九份).  We will let you walk through the street filled with shops selling the famous yam ball dessert as well as other local tit-bits. 

Next will bring you to another place where not many tour operator will bring you there - Ji Long Night Market (基隆庙口).  Here we will let you walk around and have your dinner here - you can try different types of the local food.  After dinner and a short walk, will send you back to the hotel.


Day 5
After taking your breakfast at the hotel and you will have your free and easy time for your last minute shopping near the hotel before we send you off to the airport for your flight back to Singapore.

Free and Easy Travel - 3 Days 2 Nights Package (Taipei & Hualian)

3 Days 2 Nights - Tour in Taipei and Hualian

Hi,

Please see below the suggested 3 days 2 nights tour in Taiwan. We cater for land tour with transport only. You will have to book your air ticket and hotel accommodation to can be arranged by us or you may book your own accommodation. 


Day 1

We will pick you up from the airport (we will need your flight and hotel details for the airport pick up) upon your arrival. The tour will starts from here ...... We will bring to the MUST go night market for your dinner and shopping - at the Shi Lin Night Market (士林夜市) of course.

After dinner and shopping, we will send you to your hotel to check in and rest for the night.


Day 2

We will pick you up from the hotel and continue our second day of tour. First we will bring you to Jiu Fen (九份）a quaint little village once the gold mining center of Taiwan. Jiu Fen is the filming site of "Sad City" （悲情城市）starring Maggie Cheng and Tony Leung which is located within the hills in northeast of Taiwan. There are many unique teahouses and shops vending the most famous country snack of yam dish and various local dishes. Next we will travel down to Hua Lian (花莲) to the Ami Aboriginal Cultural Vilage (阿妹族) to take a look at their lifestyle and enjoy a dance performances by them. After this, we will proceed to the Taroko National Park (太鲁阁). We will stay in one of the hotel in Hua Lian for 1 night.



Day 3

After breakfast, will travel back to Taipei and the tour will end here.




The minimum no. of passenger to form this tour will be 6 people and the maximun 14 people.

Guess ..... What is this place?  This is not a public toilet.....

Its the unique restaurant call - The Toilet Restaurant....

The last time when we were in Taipei in Dec 2008, we are asking around and it seems that the local are not aware of this restaurant and the exact location.

Finally when we are back in Apr 2009, we are able to finally find this restaurant.... guess where ??? Its just at one of the corner within Xi Meng Tin shopping area.

Below are a few options for a One Day Tour Package in Taipei

Option 1


Pick up from hotel and our first stop will be at the Long Shan Temple (龙山寺).  A historic temple where you will be shown the magnificent building and the guide you tell you the story behind it.  After this we will proceed to Jiu Fen (九份）a quaint little village once the gold mining center of Taiwan. After this we will bring you to Kee Lung (基隆庙口) to enjoy the different type of food of Taiwan. After enjoying the food, need to take a walk... we will bring you to Wu Fen Pu Wholesale centre (五分埔) for lower prices clothes.  Before ending the tour, we will bring you to get some souvenir and Taiwan special tit-bits (台湾伴手礼) .


Option 2


After leaving the hotel, we will bring you towards Da Xi District (大溪老街) - an old historical street whereby you can take a look at the streets of yester year and try the famous local food - namely "tou foo". Next, we will visit a beautiful lake called Ci Hu (慈湖) - which not many people know of this place.  It is previously holiday resort of the ex-President Jiang Jia Shi (蒋介石) and his son, Jiang Jing Guo (蒋经国).  

We will take a walk at a nearby dam (石门水库) and will proceed to bring you to get your souvenir and Taiwan local tit-bits (台湾伴手礼) .


Option 3

This package will be suitable for those family with children and those who like to enjoy theme park rides...  After picking you up from the hotel, we will bring you to the Xiao Ren Guo Park (小人国) for a tour and will let the children enjoy the place.  After this we will proceed to another theme park Liu Fu Chun (六福村) .   Will bring you to buy your souvenir and tit-bits (台湾伴手礼)  prior to sending you back to the hotel.


Option 4

Start the day with visiting the famous Panda (团团圆圆) at the Taiwan Zoo as well as other animals.  We will bring you to the one of the tallest shopping mall  - The 101 Tower after visiting the zoo.  After that will bring you to Wu Fen Pu Wholesale centre (五分埔) for lower prices clothes. After all the shopping for clothes, we will bring you to get souvenir and tit-bits (台湾伴手礼)  and if time forbids will bring you to Shi Lin Night Market (士林夜市) for you to try the famous Chicken Chop and many other foods and gifts.
